Lucas Herissant

Lucas Herissant is a DIM-ELICIT postdoctoral fellow. He received his Master’s degree in Genetics from the University of Paris Diderot – VII in France. For his doctoral studies, he joined Dr. Catherine Dargemont’s lab in the Jacques Monod Institute (IJM, University of Paris Diderot – VII, France), where he focused on the role of Histone H2B ubiquitination in mRNA maturation.

He received his postdoctoral training at Stanford University (California, USA) where he joined Dr. Gavin Sherlock’s lab (Genetics Department). Through an innovative single-cell DNA barcoding system, he investigated the spectrum of mutations in different environments along with their fitness and pleiotropic effects.

He joined Dr. Bava’s laboratory in May 2018, where he is applying and further implementing single-cell barcoding technologies to study the immune response to cancer cells.

Lucas appreciates the company of family and friends around a coupe of champagne, a glass of wine or a pint of beer. He loves sports, not only watching but also playing. He played football and practiced Judo during his youth. Now he plays Handball.
